Galtronics has completed its acquisition of Kaelus AB, a move the company says will create a broader end-to-end RF portfolio for wireless network deployments.
Galtronics is best known in the venue market for antenna products, including multibeam and stadium antennas designed to support dense cellular environments. Kaelus adds products that sit earlier in the signal path, including equipment used to combine, filter, condition and test radio-frequency signals before they reach antennas.
In practical terms, that could give Galtronics a broader role in the RF layer of a distributed antenna system, or DAS. For stadiums and venues, the combination delivers best in class wireless coupled with lower costs and fewer cable runs.
“This acquisition brings together highly complementary technologies and expertise,” said Leighton Carroll, chief executive officer of Galtronic’s corporate parent, Baylin Technologies. “By expanding our capabilities, we are enabling customers to deploy next-generation wireless networks with greater efficiency and performance.”
Kaelus President Peter Sandberg said the combination gives Kaelus broader resources and a larger platform for customer support.
“Joining forces with Galtronics and Baylin strengthens our ability to serve customers as a more strategic, long-term partner,” Sandberg said in the announcement. “With a broader portfolio and deeper resources, we are well-positioned to deliver comprehensive RF solutions in an increasingly AI-connected world.”
By combining Galtronics’ antenna portfolio with Kaelus’ RF conditioning and test capabilities, the company may be able to make a stronger case around deployment efficiency, especially where signal combining and conditioning can simplify cable and fiber runs between the headend and antenna locations. That could be relevant for stadium owners and operators evaluating cellular upgrades, C-band overlays, 5G capacity additions or new DAS deployments.
